About the Author:

Annabelle is a Science Fiction and Urban Fantasy Romance author, that is, when she's not checking homework or begrudgingly cooking dinner. Wife, mother, and creator of alternate worlds, Annabelle has a penchant for that which is outside the norm.

Her Sociology degree did nothing to progress her writing skills, but has given her the ability to construct worlds that exist only in her head and translate them passionately to the page. The time spent studying individuals, interpersonal relationships, and particularly, women, within the constraints of our society led to Annabelle's unabashed ability to talk about sex as it fits into our modern lives.

She's also the author/personality of The Bombshell Mommy at Vitacost.com, where she expounds her knowledge of being a vixen clad in sweatpants.

Indie Authors

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to take a minute and express how I feel about a subject I just found out about a few days ago.  I am very new to the blogging world so I am out of the loop and behind.  Bloggers not working with Indie Authors they don't know.  I understand their stance.  However, I will continue to support Indie Authors known to me and newbies to me.  Here's the thing, if you don't want a completely honest review I can't help you.  I can't promise to like your book.  I'm not paid. I write this blog because I love reading and I love meet wonderful people, readers, authors and bloggers.  Some books are provided by authors or publishers some are won in giveaways and the rest are bought.  I will let you know if I've beta'd for a book I'm reviewing.  It won't happen often but I'll be completely honest about it.

As for my reviews.  They are 100% honest.  Authors and publishers tend to submit books I will most likely enjoy or I pick them from a blog tour so they tend to have high marks.  I avoid reading other bloggers reviews because of the issues with plagiarism when I first started blogging.

If you have any questions or concerns about these subjects please let me know.
Thank you,
<3 Tobi

Blog Tour Guestpost/Review: Nursing Second Chances by Maggie Greene

Guest Post by Maggie Greene
Why I Love Small Town Romance

I admit to being a city girl. I might have grown up in middle-of-nowhere Wyoming, but my dream was always to get out. At eighteen, I moved to Seattle for college and never looked back. Since then, I’ve lived in a couple big cities and can’t dream of living somewhere small again.
I’ll tell you a secret though. I love small town romances. There is something about the dynamics of a small town that are perfect for love stories. There is always lots of gossip, plenty of strange characters and a few surprises.
The best part, to me, is that everyone thinks they know everyone in a small town. That’s why love should be difficult to find. If you’ve already met everyone, then who’s left? Then one day, they run across that person they’ve never met before. The one didn’t know was in town. Maybe they just moved there or maybe they’ve been there all along, but either way there is an instant attraction. The only thing the author has to do is sit back and allow things to run their course.
Why do you love small town romances?
Alright, time for the fun part. I’m having a large giveaway as part of my blog tour. Comments on each of the stops will count as an entry in the contest. Winners will be drawn on August 1st and will receive a gift basket from me complete with some book swag, bath products, and honey. For more details (and chances to enter), you can visit my blog (http://www.authormaggiegreene.com). Please make sure you leave an email address.

Nursing Second Chances
A Honey Creek Sweet Romance
Kiersten Hart left Honey Creek the minute she graduated high school and never looked back. When her sister Jeanine is widowed and left to raise two children alone, Kiersten moves back on a temporary basis. When Charles steps in and sweeps her off her feet, she has to decide if the wounds from her childhood can be mended.
After his wife died, Charles Webber swore he’d never love anyone again. He buried himself in his work and didn’t look up until he found out his son was sick. Moving to Honey Creek was supposed to make things easier. Kiersten does little to help keep things simple. Though he is taken with her, he soon realizes the casual relationship they agreed on is turning serious. As their expiration date approaches, Charles must decide if Kiersten is worth the risk.

Maggie Greene has often been described as having an overactive imagination. She’s not convinced this is true, but does seem to spend a lot of her time daydreaming up ways to make her characters fall in love. When she’s not buried in a pile of books or typing away on her computer, she’s living out her very own happily-ever-after with a very patient husband and a demanding cat.Maggie loves to hear from readers. You can contact her at authormaggiegreene@gmail.com, through her website www.authormaggiegreene.com or on Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/#!/AuthorMaggieGreene.

My Review

First thoughts after…
Nursing Second Chances is a sweet, endearing feel good book.
How Distracted Did I Get?
Kiersten never wants to go back to her tiny hometown again.  With the death of her brother-in-law, who was in the military, she went back to help her sister, niece and nephew get through the rough time.  She’ll be there a couple weeks, a month tops.  If only that was true.  She’s gotten a job as the local elementary school nurse to help with bills until she heads back to Philadelphia.
Charles has been a single dad since his son Jason was born, his wife died during child birth. No one has caught Charles’s eye in ten years until he met Kiersten her first day at work when Jason’s blood sugar dropped and had to visit the new nurse’s office.
Will Kiersten and Charles make things work out or will Kiersten let her past rule her future?
How Many Baskets?
From beginning to end Nursing Second Chances had me in its grip and didn’t let me go until the end.  It’s a sweet romance that is perfect when you just want the perfect romance.
I give Nursing Second Chances………
5 Baskets! <3

Blog Tour with Dina Silver and her New Release Kat Fight! Q&A & Review!

Goodreads Synopsis
The seriously funny, fabulously flawed Kat Porter has arrived, and she may just steal your heart—not to mention your boyfriend. Readers everywhere will revel in this sharp-witted, well-meaning whirlwind in author Dina Silver’s hilarious new novel, Kat Fight. In her quest for love, Kat makes every wrong turn, juggling two men, one best friend, and her own deeply confused heart’s desires.

Kat Porter is a consummate romantic, eager for her chance to find love and commitment. But after her boyfriend of four years, Marc, begins to grow apathetic and sends her calls straight to voicemail one too many times, Kat finally musters the courage to confront her so-called sweetheart, who seems more interested in dodging her than courting her. Though she’s no fan of ultimatums, Kat is at the end of her considerable wits, and lobs a massive one his way, completely confident that he'll make the right decision when faced with losing her. He doesn't.

With radio silence from Marc, Kat’s lifelong dream of finding a husband and forging a family is decidedly on the skids. That’s when her childhood friend Julie steps in, forcing Kat on a blind date to help her move beyond the break-up. Not only does Kat botch the setup, she instead finds herself in hot pursuit of Julie’s love interest, Ryan Sullivan. A man who, in addition to literally taking her breath away, is the living, breathing personification of everything Kat wants in a husband.

Can Kat connect with the man of her dreams without hurting two of the people she cares most about? At the same time, she must also contend with the quips of her beloved catty coworker Adam, her bi-polar boss Brooke, and a string of comic, unpredictable plot twists. All the while, Kat’s cheeky perspective and generous heart will leave readers adoring every moment of her journey while chuckling and cheering for the ever cute, razor-sharp Kat as she fights to land the love of a lifetime.

First Thoughts after
Le Sigh……..  Such a great book!  Didn’t want it to end…….. but loved the fun facts at the end!  Must Check those out!!!!

How Distracted Did I Get?
Kat has a long time boyfriend from college who’s been neglecting her.  She gives him an ultimatum and she did not get the response she expected.  Despite the turbulent relationship with Marc this break up seems different.  Thrown back into singleton she decides to meet new people.
Enter the handsome Ryan.  She meets Ryan while she is on a blind date with his friend (who reviews porn) and Ryan is on a date with her friend Julie.  A while later Ryan ends up with a shiny new job at Kat’s advertising office.  She’s crushing big time.  With the support of her bff Adam she goes through the ups and downs of a new relationship, risks her friendship with Julie and her ex popping back up.  Will it be a happy ending?
How Many Baskets?
So, I’m going to be completely honest friends, I was a beta reader for this book so this was my 2nd opportunity to read this amazing book.  I wasn’t given credit for being a beta reader so I believe there is no conflict of interest.
OK, back to the baskets.  I laughed so hard!  If you don’t love Adam there’s something wrong with you!  LOL Kat has some hard decisions to make and in the process makes mistakes like any person can.  Ryan is hot, sensitive but not perfect in all ways.  All men have to have some flaw right?
I gave Kat Fight………

Q&A with Dina Silver! <3

What makes this story special to you?
Kat Fight is loosely based on how I met my husband, back in 1997, and is really special to me because I’ve always wanted to write comedy, and this is my first shot at it.

How do you develop a character?
My characters are almost always based on people I know, or people I’ve met throughout my lifetime. The great thing about even the goofiest person in our lives is that there is always some one who can relate to them. Everyone’s had a crazy relative, a snobby friend, a jerky boss - so for me it’s merely dipping into my own reality show and finding the things that make certain people interesting and impactful. Even if someone is a shy, mousy wallflower, they can still have a bold impact on your story.

How does plot happen for you?  Does it evolve as you write or do you outline it in advance?  Describe the process.
I am not a fan of writing an outline. I have written two novels so far and each one has literally spilled out onto the computer when I sat down to write. I truly don’t believe I could write a story unless I have it worked out in my head first. I’m not saying that character studies or plot development are a waste of time, it simply works better for me to write in a more freestyle manner.

Your book is written in the first person.  Why did you choose that point of view?
Both of my novels are written in the first person, so I guess this is the POV I’m most comfortable with. While it does limit you to only one person’s opinions and interpretations, it’s easier for me to channel myself into my protagonist if I can hear her voice and write through her emotions.

What personal experience do you bring to your book?
A great deal, actually. Many of the scenes in both, Kat Fight, and One Pink Line, are lifted from my own life experiences. It can be very therapeutic!

What else can you tell us about yourself or your writing process?
Just that I feel so grateful to be able to self publish and finally have my writing available to people. That being said, it’s still a ton of work. I spend hours (not 2 or 3, more like 6) a day trying to market my book and myself and reach as many people as I can. The hardest work truly begins once the book is done!

What’s your fave?

Cleaning tip?

Excerpt

Meet Leesie:

from Leesie's Most Private Chapbook, Prologue, Taken by Storm, "What does it Matter?"

What does it matter if
another jock pinches me
as I walk down the hall to Physics
and high fives Troy, celebrating
like he just scored
the season’s first touchdown?

As I stalk past Troy,
architect of my torture,
I’m frozen, a block of ice—
not a single drop melts.

All hail the Mormon Ice Queen.

What does it matter?

I know the commandment,
but I don’t even consider
turning the other cheek.

And, yes, it hurts, but
life without pain
isn’t much of a test.

This feeling can’t be lonely—
I’m not alone.

I walk with His hand on my shoulder,
His voice whispering in my soul,
His love soaring in my heart,
His suffering
my
salvation.

What else could possibly matter?
