A Visit to Mackinac Island - Jen Tucker & Illustrated by Jennifer Powell

Each year, Ella eagerly awaits her family's summertime trip to Mackinac Island. Once the ferry docks, Ella has an agenda to uphold yet so many interesting sights, smells, and experiences seem to come first. Bold and whimsical handcrafted paper illustrations bring to life a journey to remember along the streets of Michigan's Gem.

My boys loved Ella's story about her trip to Mackinac Island.  Most nights one of them has it in bed reading/looking through it and the beautiful illustrations.  The story is perfect for boys and girls alike.
I highly recommend this book for any kid who enjoys reading.

One Snowy Night - Jill Shalvis

It’s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasn’t seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton, and his big, goofy, lovable dog Carl.

Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory’s out of options. She’s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows he’s attracted to her, too. But they have history… and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.

They’ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past… and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

An Amish Family Christmas - Shelley Shepard Gray

In Shelley Shepard Gray’s fourth book in her Charmed Amish Life series, an unlikely Amish romance reveals that Christmas is a time for family, miracles—and love.

Ever since his father died in a tragic fire, Levi Kinsinger has felt adrift. Newly returned to Charm, Ohio, Levi is trying to fit into his old life, only to discover he seems to have outgrown it.

But when Julia, his young widowed neighbor, asks for his help with a Christmas project, Levi finds a sense of purpose for the first time in months. She and her daughter are new to Charm and could use a friend, a job Levi takes personally. Soon enough, friendship grows into attraction, but Levi can’t help having doubts. There’s something about Julia that doesn’t ring quite true…
