Today I'll start with an interview with Shawntelle Madison
Hi Shawntelle can you tell us a bit about your books?
Shawntelle: The Coveted series are stories about werewolf Natalya Stravinsky’s journey to rejoin her
pack, fix her relationship with her family, and finally to reunite with the love she lost five years ago.
Where do you get your ideas from?
Shawntelle: My ideas come from all sorts of places. Matter of fact, I’ve been driving or shopping in the
store and ideas come to me. But with so many ideas, I have to pick and choose the ones that are high
concept—that can be quite hard.
What is your preferred writing space?
Shawntelle: I can write anywhere if inspiration strikes, but I have written nearly all my books on the
couch of my living room. There is just something special about that place. I snuggle into the side with
a blanket and a cold drink, and then I let my fingers fly across the keyboard as I’m swept away into a
scene. Okay, sometimes I’m cursing at the screen and shaking my fist at it, but that’s a story for another
time.
What is at the top of your TBR pile right now?
Shawntelle: I’ve actually fallen into a young adult book. Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson. I found it browsing
around on Goodreads. After reading the sample from Amazon I was hooked. Great writing and the story
just flows.
What is your writing process?
Shawntelle: For me, all stories start out with the main character and then everything comes out of
that—the conflict, the antagonist, the setting, etc. I prefer to write character-driven fiction with a large
cast of characters. If asked, I’d say I was a plotser. I need to plot some of my book, but if necessary, I’ll
write by the seat of my pants on a few scenes of the book.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That is way too difficult to answer. I have too many to be honest. There is an author I’m pining for
though. Every couple of years I re-read a story by LaVryle Spencer. Great storytelling! Every time I read
her work I think to myself, how does she pull me in every time?
What is your average writing day like?
Shawntelle: You mean there is enough time in the day to get writing done every day? When you find
this time, let me know. I’ve been looking for it everywhere. To be honest, I don’t write every day. Since
I work from home, I’m responsible for so many other things like the household, the kids, and my work
duties. Sometimes writing gets put on the back burner. But that’s okay since my mind uses the time to
replenish itself. When I do get to write, I prefer to write for long periods of time like 4+ hours. I sit down
on the comfy couch and write like the wind, putting out at least 1000 words per half hour.

Here is a bit about Coveted and Kept
SOMETIMES WHAT YOU COVET IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP.
For werewolf Natalya Stravinsky, the supernatural is nothing extraordinary. What does seem strange is that she's stuck in her hometown of South Toms River, New Jersey, the outcast of her pack, selling antiques to finicky magical creatures. Restless and recovering from her split with gorgeous ex-boyfriend, Thorn, Nat finds comfort in an unusual place: her obsessively collected stash of holiday trinkets. But complications pile up faster than her ornaments when Thorn returns home--and the two discover that the spark between them remains intense.
Before Nat can sort out their relationship, she must face a more immediate and dangerous problem. Her pack is under attack from the savage Long Island werewolves--and Nat is their first target in a turf war. Toss in a handsome wizard vying for her affection, a therapy group for the anxious and enchanted, and the South Toms River pack leader ready to throw her to the wolves, and it's enough to give anybody a panic attack. With the stakes as high as the full moon, Nat must summon all of her strength to save her pack and, ultimately, herself.
Kept
A funny and sexy new paranormal romance, perfect for fans of Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs, Kept features the charmingly quirky werewolf, Natalya Stravinsky, as she navigates the minefields of love and war in the Garden State.
Fresh from defending her pack in battle, Natalya Stravinsky, a whip-smart werewolf with a lovable neurotic streak, wants a little rest and relaxation. Once an outcast, she's now eager to rejoin the ranks of her New Jersey pack, and has even gotten a handle on her obsessive urge to hoard holiday ornaments. Yet Nat barely has time to revel in her progress before the next crisis comes howling at her door.
Nat's father has suddenly gone missing, captured by the Russian werewolf mafia. And as Nat steps up to save her dad from a mob boss's deadly game, two men step in to play another round for her heart: her gorgeous alpha ex-boyfriend, Thorn, and her new flame, the sweetly sensitive wizard Nick. With her life growing more harried by the minute, Nat must stay cool, calm, and collected . . . or else risk losing everything.
COMING SOON........My Review of Kept! Y'all have no IDEA how much I've been dying for Kept to come out!
Shawntelle Madison is a web developer who loves to weave words as well as code. She’d never admit it, but if asked she’d say she covets and collects source code. After losing her first summer job detassling corn, Shawntelle performed various jobs—from fast-food clerk to grunt programmer to university webmaster. Writing eccentric characters is her most favorite job of them all. On any particular day when she’s not surgically attached to her computer, she can be found watching cheesy horror movies or the latest action-packed anime. She lives in Missouri with her husband and children.
