Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire
INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE.
Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.
Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

First thoughts after....
Beautiful Disaster is a highly addictive read. Be prepared to camp it out until you've finished the story. Just sayin' clear a day or 2. Abby's a cautious and safe kind of gal and she's very easy to relate to. Travis.....hottie mctottie that every one wants. Everyone except Abby that is. From beginning to end Beautiful Disaster is a roller coaster of emotions that's near impossible to put down! Thank goodness I had a casserole already put together. All I had to do was throw it in the oven!
I give Beautiful Disaster...........

Cover Reveal - Always Remember by Emma Hart~
Blurb:
How long does it take for a
long-distance relationship to break down? Sixteen months.
When Jen and Carl put their
relationship to rest after Christmas, Jen’s biggest problem is
going back to London ten days earlier than planned – and her
ever-present attraction to Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards.
Bing has no idea why Jen left Devon so
fast. All he knows is that he wants her as much as he did the first
day he laid eyes on her – so spending time with her while Lexy is
still in Devon isn’t exactly a hardship for him. When he finds out
she’s single, the only thing on his mind is finishing what they
started at his dad’s fiftieth birthday party.
Feelings that have been a long time
building between the two explode, and they both find themselves
sucked into an easy yet passionate relationship, with Bing determined
to prove to Jen that she’s it for him. That she is The One.
But in a city like London, the odds are
stacked against them, and there’s always that one person ready to
stir things up… And Jen doesn’t know how much of that she can
take – even for the guy she loves more deeply than she ever
imagined, and eventually she breaks.
Bing isn’t down with that. He wants
Jen, and he wants her by his side for good.
Jennifer Mason must learn that Samuel
Edwards doesn’t do giving up. Especially not when his forever girl
is involved.
Excerpt:
JEN
He
chuckles low, and I suppress the shiver that’s threatening to run
through my body. His hand closes around mine, and he pries the
hairspray from my grip. His fingers slip between mine, his palm hot.
My eyes flick to our hands and how dainty mine looks encompassed in
his.
His
other hand rises to my face, his thumb tracing down my cheek to the
dent below my ear. It ghosts along my jaw, tracing the shape of it,
and finally settles on my lower lip. He tugs it from between my teeth
gently, and the pad of his thumb strokes across it.
My
eyes rise to his, our faces inches from each other.
“You
know it’s you, don’t you?” he says softly, uncertainly.
I
nod silently, unable to form any words.
“I
mean it, Jen.” He cups the side of my face. “Whatever she tries
to say, it’s all lies. Even if she hasn’t said it yet, I can tell
you it’s a lie.” He dips his face towards me, resting his nose
alongside mine. I let my eyes flutter shut, feeling the realness in
the moment.
“I
know,” I whisper. “But that doesn’t mean-”
“Don’t.
Say. It,” he orders in a hushed voice. “I just got you, Jen. I
waited for too long to have you, but I do now, and I’ll be damned
if I’m gonna let her get in between us. I told you, didn’t I? I
told you that if anyone doubts us, if you ever doubt us, to come to
me.”
“Yes.”
“Then
do it. Come to me, babe. Don’t let her get under your skin. She’s
nothing to me. She never was anything. Not like you.”
I
run my free hand along his arm until it rests on his hand cupping my
cheek. “What am I, Sam?”
“Everything,
Jen. You are everything. Don’t ever doubt that.”

Strength - Carrie Butler
$3.99 on Kindle
When college student Rena Collins finds herself nose-to-chest with the campus outcast, her rumor-laced notions are shattered. Handsome, considerate, and seemingly sane, Wallace Blake doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, screaming and banging on the walls of his dorm room. Hell, he doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, period.
Too curious for her own good, Rena vows to uncover the truth behind Wallace’s madman reputation--and how two seconds of contact had left her with bruises. Of course, there are a few setbacks along the way: guilt, admiration, feelings of the warm and fuzzy variety…
Not to mention the unwanted attention of Wallace's powerful, supernaturally-gifted family.
They’re a bloodline divided by opposing ideals, two soon-to-be warring factions that live in secret among us. When Rena ends up caught in their crossfire, Wallace has no choice but to save her by using his powers. Now they’re really in trouble. With war on the horizon and Rena’s life in the balance, he needs to put some distance between them. But Rena won’t let go. If fighting is what it takes to prove her own strength and keep Wallace in her life, then that’s what she’ll do--even if it means risking a whole lot more than her heart.
First thoughts after.....
I want more Wallace! I have a new book boyfriend! Shhhhh.....don't tell the others.......
How distracted did I get?
Strength is a fun addictive read. If I had the next book in my hands I'd currently be reading the story! Rena's tiny but spunky and watch out for that hook! She's trained in self defense and with a fiery temper. Wallace a quiet type hmmmm.....let's just say Wallace is awesome and you need to read all about him! I wasn't wanting to work last night so I could read and my co-worker/friend wants to borrow my copy....may just have to gift her a copy...I don't want to give up mine...(yeah it was that good). Strength's story has comedy, romance, action all in one book you shouldn't miss!

Breaking the Rules - Cat Lavoie
Blurb:
When twenty-seven year old
Roxy Rule’s best friend and roommate accepts a glamorous new job overseas, she
expects their relationship to continue as it’s always been—carefree and
easy—until they share a heart-stopping kiss moments before his departure.
Overcome with mixed emotions, she fights the urge to over analyze the situation
and resumes back to her normal life in New York City, working for an
intolerable boss at a dead end job, creeping further and further away from her
own dreams of becoming a professional chef.
While things become more complicated between her and Ollie, Roxy is sure that nothing can come between two lifelong best friends—not even mild jealousy over a thriving career or a silly little kiss that meant nothing. In fact, it was such a meaningless and forgettable kiss that she convinces herself that it’s not even worth mentioning to her fiancĂ©, although it is all she can think about.
Roxy’s already topsy-turvy life only gets more complicated when her sisters Steffi and Izzie suddenly become her roommates. Steffi is six months into a pregnancy she refuses to discuss and Izzie is in the throes of a premature midlife crisis. Roxy tries to take control of her career, her love life and her sisters – but can she really handle it all? And can the Rule family keep it together – or break under the pressure?

Cat!How distracted did I get??
Breaking the Rules is a strangely addictive read. Roxy is fun but I wanted to jerk a knot in her noggin quite a bit. This story has a lot of quirky secondary characters including 2 men to love...or hate...depends how you look at it. Izzie drove me bananas! I'm thankful neither of my sisters are like her! LOL I was so wrapped up in the story I didn't realize it was 12:30 am. Breaking the Rules is Chick Lit with a twist. A definite for Chick Lit readers!

An incurable Anglophile since her university days where she studied English Literature, she can often be found daydreaming about her next trip to London. Since she’s an expert at the art of procrastination, Cat is easily distracted by cooking and home improvement shows—even though she’s not particularly good at either.
Cat grew up watching soap operas and legal dramas and—had she not decided to be a claims analyst by day and write chick lit by night—she would have probably become a designer suit-wearing lawyer. Or a character on All My Children (which is what she really wanted to be when she was twelve).
Cat is not sure whether she’s a geek or a nerd—and is afraid she might be both. Breaking the Rules is her first novel.

On the Island - Tracey Garvis-Graves
$7.99 on Kindle
When thirty-year-old English teacher Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family's summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation; a working vacation on a tropical island trumps the library any day.
T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He's almost seventeen and if having cancer wasn't bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family - and a stack of overdue assignments - instead of his friends.
Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.'s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island. Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter.
Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.'s cancer could return. As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.

(I've created my own little phrase) Anna needed a break and boy did she get it and not in the best way. She's a tough cookie and I loved reading her story. I loved TJ he's a man after a girls heart and a wonderful leading man. Every time we stopped while running errands around town I picked up my book! On the Island is a must read if you like any or all of those genres from above!

It seemed only
natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they
swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s
work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their
bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy
divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile
whenever I saw them, saw him ... Toby Morrison.
Quiet
seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime
job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high
school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year
Twelve begins.
To Tess, summer
is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching
the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the
sweltering Sunday markets.

Sand Castle Bay is a heart warming story that had me wrapped around it's little binding. Emily an independent interior designer is fun and likable in her relationships with family and with the handsome southern Boone. Both characters stubborn to the core but held me by the scruff of the neck til I finished the story. (They're still holding on until I finish the series to be honest) ;) Sand Castle Bay is a perfect summer read for sunbathing or taking on vacay!

The Love Game - Emma Hart Blog Tour
His
challenge? Make her fall in love with him.
Her
challenge? Play the player.
Until
life changes the rules of the game.
Maddie
Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the
playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything
her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls
challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no? She doesn't
know either.
Braden
wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd
do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in
love with him. After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants.
Sex.
But,
as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he
ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl
behind those pretty green eyes.
Maddie
finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has
feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly
hurt. That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in
Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren't

Perhaps... Perhaps - Lindy Dale
$2.99 on Kindle
School teacher, Flora Owens thought she had the perfect life. Comfortable with being the least exciting, most organised and most predictable friend anyone could ever have, Flora was content until the morning she discovered her knickers had been stolen from the line again. She should have known it was an omen.
Now, the positive chi of her ordered world is in tatters. The Principal has broken his leg and been replaced by a man she thought she would never see again, a man she felt an instant and electric attraction to when she met him at a dance class and Flora's so far in lust with her new boss, Luke, she can’t even think.
To make matters worse, Flora can't figure out if he's interested in her or not. One minute he’s trying to kiss her and the next he’s ignoring her. Then when Flora and Luke finally get together, he reveals the reason why he’s been so standoffish and reluctant to begin a relationship with her.
Now Flora’s facing the most difficult decision of her life ~ take a chance, break out of her O.C.D mold and have an affair with her boss or continue her safe, boring life. What's a girl to do?
***Or were you looking for a love story guaranteed to make you laugh and cry? Try searching ‘Heart of Glass LA Dale’
***For humour, romance and good fun chick lit? Try The Taming of the Bastard
***And for the best in Paranormal Romance ~ book one of the Children of the Pentacle Series: Angel’s Bend
First thoughts after.....
I loved it as much as I did the first time I read it in 2011!
How distracted did I get?
Perhaps... Perhaps is a fun thrill ride that is difficult to put down. From beginning to end I was attached to the story and characters. Flora's a relateable character being a wallflower no one really notices through out her life. Until she meets Luke. The hunky guy she met in Latin Dance class. I highly reccomend this chick lit/romantic suspense!
I give Perhaps... Perhaps......

Something
wild this way comes. Once a powerful, practicing Wiccan, Kira Douglas
has reluctantly moved to wild and beautiful Sedona, Arizona for only
one reason-assume custody of her dead sister's daughter. She
immediately runs into an obstacle. The child's uncle, the
disturbingly sexy Aiden Calhoun, refuses to give her up. Aiden has
good reason for not allowing Kira custody of his precious niece. The
child is half witch, half shapeshifter. Allowing her to take the girl
could expose the family's shapeshifting secret he has spent a
lifetime protecting. Their instant attraction isn't just an
inconvenient temptation. It could put his entire family in danger.
But an evil force is re-emerging, bent on destroying everything they
know and love. The only way to survive is to put all differences
aside. And overcome the nightmare that once broke Kira's faith. This
title has been revised and expanded from its previously published
version. Warning: This book contains explicit,
howling-under-the-desert-moon love scenes and some
wash-your-mouth-out-with-soap language.
Why Kitty Kira?? That was never answered....I think there's something to it.
How distracted did I get?
Temptation Unleashed is a fascinating story of witches and shifters with lack of trust for the other. Kira stopped practicing witchcraft after a horrific incident. She's strong and yet she's putty when around Aiden. Aiden, a hot shifter that loves protecting his family. Enough said. I feel I figured out the bad guy pretty easily and he/she is revealed pretty early. Which I liked in this case to see if the others could figure it out. I would recommend Temptation Unleashed to the shifter/wiccan read fans!
I give Temptation Unleashed.....

Hottie McTottie Monday 3 w/#giveaway
A couple weeks ago I got to meet and talk to Carter and Molly from the Racing to Love series this week I get to sit down with Jessie! Whoooey! Who doesn't LOVE a hot cowboy? I hope you enjoy meeting him as much as I did!
Tobi – Hey Jesse,
it’s so nice to have you drop by.
Jesse—No, it’s
my honor. How are ya?
T—(love his southern accent, not heavy, but just perfect—like his
trademark 5 o’clock shadow..OMG he’s even hotter in person
ladies! I’m a little stunned.) Um…I’m good. (Trying not to
stare!) It’s been busy. How’s racing been going?
J—Well, the outdoor series didn’t end up where we wanted it to,
but my mechanic, Shawn and I have been putting our heads together to
try and change that for SuperCross which starts in a couple of weeks.
Hopefully I’ll get things turned around and get some podiums for
our team.
T—I’m sure it’ll be great. So…let me ask you, is there
anyone special in your life right now?
J—You like to just jump right in there with the good stuff huh?
T—(he just winked at me! But he’s about three shades of red
right now, lol.) Well…I know the ladies are dying to find out if
you’re on the market. I can’t believe that a good-looking guy
like yourself would stay single more than five minutes, but…
J—(shakes his head with a smirk) Well, actually…no. I’m not
seeing anyone right now.
T—(his light laughter was a cover up, there’s a pain to his eyes
now.) Bad break-up?
J—Nope. Just trusted the wrong person. Ya know how that goes
sometimes.
T—(wow…you can just sense what a soft-hearted person he is. OMG,
I just want to reach out and hug him tight.) Yeah…it happens.
It’s probably hard to meet people when you’re always on the road,
huh?
