Happy Tempting Thursday!
Today I'm sharing a new release from one of my fave authors!
HEART RIVER INN by Jocie McKade!
I grabbed my copy this morning and can't wait to dig in!
Romance
Lexi
Sheridan doesn’t believe in true love. It’s a fantasy found only in old
Hollywood movies. She’s a journalist trying to climb the professional ladder
and work her way into a national news organization. When a mysterious old photograph
lands in her lap, it could be her ‘golden ticket’ to that coveted news job.
That photo
leads her to the Heart River Inn, a lovers’ resort nestled in the wilds of the
Pocono Mountains. The resort is a kitschy place that she at first finds
nauseatingly filled with fake couples in love. However, after only a few days
interviewing guests, her jaded soul begins to see things with a new perspective.
At the
Heart River Inn, Lexi encounters a soft-hearted owner with a secret past, a hot
manager, lethal swans, attack curtains, and an assortment of couples you won’t
soon forget.
If on some
night your world is looking bleak, your heart is broken, and you don’t think
true love exists, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to stumble across the heart-shaped
sign of the Heart River Inn.
The Pocono’s are America’s kitschy romance capital. Nestled amid beautiful mountains near the
New Jersey state line, many overlook its small towns, and beautiful scenery.
A few years ago, hubby and I spend a very fun anniversary weekend in the Pocono Mountains.
We stayed at one the resorts with the champagne glass bathtub, in-room swimming pool, and
fireplace. Was it kitschy? Yes. But it was so much fun. We laughed, we ate, we meet some
amazing people, and we ventured into the small towns and parks in the area. Wow, all the stuff
they don’t say in the brochure.
Heart River Inn came out of that weekend, and many of the characters bloomed out of that
weekend.
It begins with journalist Lexi Sheridan finding a photograph while doing some research. She
works for a small NY magazine and dreams of landing a job at one of the big networks and
traveling the world getting to do the ‘big’ news stories. This one photograph just might make her
dreams comes true.
The problem with Lexi, is that she’s well nice, and it’s very hard for her to be the ruthless
journalist that shoves the microphone in someone’s face. This time, however, she vows it will be
different and she will get the dirt on that photograph.
In love, Lexi hasn’t exactly had a good history, so she comes to the lover’s resort with a jaded
heart and a skeptical mind.
Each chapter features a different couple that is staying at Heart River Inn. They tell Lexi why
they are there, what brought them there, and why they keep coming back. It’s quite the cast of
characters that frequent Heart River Inn, as well as evil gym equipment and trained attack swans.
I hope you’ll enjoy a visit to the Pocono’s and make Heart River Inn your destination.
