Dominic joins the military determined to prove himself. He doesn't want to leave Lily and promises to come back for her. Though he never does and leaves Lily heartbroken. After many years she's finally picking up the pieces when he returns injured and feeling like less of a man. Though Lily is in danger and he's determined to protect her.
Lily is easy to relate to and very likable. Her fear of Dominic running off again is very understandable. Dominic is one hottie mctottie that has more than his injuries on the outside to contend with. Both have to overcome the fears and learn to forge ahead with their lives. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt. The story over all was written well and a book I would highly recommend.
