Becca is shocked when her nephew's Head Camp Counselor, Carl aka Mr. Max, shows up and tells her that her nephew is missing. From there, Becca is thrown into the world that is Grizzly shifters. Becca handles the shocking news better than most. I love her humor and the ability she has to bring out the best in those around her. She definitely was the comic relief when needed throughout the story. Carl is one sexy Grizzly, though he believes he's battling the bear inside he's all cuddles when it comes to Becca. He's what I call the perfect Alpha teddy, no pun intended. Their chemistry is immediate but I love how the author lets that build as the story progresses rather than outright wham bam thank you ma'am right out of the gate. The character of Tonya had me on edge and I'm glad she wasn't going to be the problem I originally thought at the beginning of the book. I'm interested to see where she and Allan, Carl's brother, end up in the series.
I love shifter books. It's hard to find a bear one that keeps me completely enthralled in the story. Kathy Lyons had me wrapped up all cozy in the pages from the beginning like a warm blanket right out of the dryer. I finished the book in two days. If you're looking for a provocative shifter romance with humor in all the right places, I highly recommend The Bear Who Loved Me.
