Amy came home to help her family's apple orchard after her parents' sudden retirement.  She's been feeling guilty for letting her ex drive her away from her family for so many years.  Then the sexy professor, Jonathon, shows up on her doorstep asking for help with his tenure research on Thomas Jefferson that lead him to Amy's family orchard.
I love Jonathon's unassuming sexiness it makes him even more of a hottie mctottie than most.  He's intelligent and funny though a bit too serious at times.  Amy is pretty deceptive to everyone with her secrets from her former relationship that lasted too long.  Though she is fun and quirky and it helps offset her holding back from everyone.  The couple is definitely sweet together.  They're both looking to find their way out of bad pasts and find comfort in one another.
I love a story that's based practically in my backyard.  There's a bit about the UVA area and it's fun reading it in a book.  This is the first book in the series and was very enjoyable but a bit slow to take off in the laying the ground work of the series and all the future leads of stories.
